Morning all!

Having been at the camp for a week iv gotten quite into it, and I think it has to be said, that even the wisest, most handsome, intelligent, amazing and cool people can eat their words. I love it out here, I think it just goes to show that I'm not a city boy myself. I can't really name one thing about the camp I dont like, well, perhaps using salt water to clean my teeth with is a little weird, and it does sting to shave with salt water, but it's all good! I'll stick all my photos up on the internet soon, im in the city for a few days to go to the salsa club and go shopping and such so I have the internet back woo. Missing everyone back home of course, though I'm sure the feeling isnt returned :P glad to see the back of me I should say!

Well I should go now, people want to go shopping and I daren't hold them up!

take care all xxx

Hola

Well i finally made it, not too sure wether I like it here or not though. My spanish project is two hours in the evening, so during the day I have nothing to do in a country where I barely speak the language lol, so Ive spoken to Marco, and on friday i should be heading out to the turtle camp, where Ill be doing both turtle work and spanish lessons for 2 weeks. After which i can decide wether to come back to the city for 2 weeks before going back to the camp for conservation, or just staying out there. I think ill maybe go out to the camp for 6 to 8 weeks then come home, cutting my trip short. I think for my first time away by myself so far away, 3 months is a little too long, but hey I might change my mind out at the camp, so theres no telling yet. The food here is so different, mostly on the good side lol. though I cant seem to find a packet of crisps that doesnt have chilli in the flavour. Well im not sure what else to say really, I guess thats all my news for now. Im not going to be online much as of a weeks time, as the turtle camp is literally like, a load of tents on a beach lol. well, until next time..

Hasta luego..

¡Dos días!

Well well, two days 'til I leave! I say that, its 2 days 'til monday, and I leave monday evening, so 2 and a bit.. Close enough!

Got all of my things pretty much sorted now, most of my questions are answered too, if not asked at least. Feeling pretty cool about everything, though I'm still coming to terms with the fact that I'm actually leaving the country on Monday for three and a half months. Wow!

Flights are looking fun too, quite a mammoth journey!

Check in at Heathrow at 5.50pm on the 24th, and arrive in Madrid at 11.00pm local,
Leave there at 1.50am on the 25th and arrive at México City at 6.35am local time,
Now spend the whole day in México City until I leave at 6.30pm,
Arriving finally in Guadalajara at 10.10pm local time!

ZOIKS!

As my arrival is so late I'm going to be staying in the TPA office in Guadalajara City for my first night woo. Then in the morning I get to go see my new family that I'm going to be with for the next month!

Looking forward, I'm expecting to write a nice long post while I'm on my way, possibly during my stay in México City, including some lovely photos of whatever happens to be closest. (You have been warned, now you can't be shocked when I post pictures of Japanese tourists from the airport because I'm not allowed to leave.) We'd better hope I'm allowed to leave the transfers lounge! lol.

Until next time =)

Bienvenido a México!

Welcome to Jim's México blog. lol.

*sets the scene*

Basically, I'm off to México in 8 days for 14 weeks. I'm gonna spend the first 4 weeks with the Barbosa family (Pirates of the carribbean eat your heart out) in a city called Guadalajara, whilst receiving 60 hours of further spanish language tuition. Clearly not all in one go, that would be silly, and although very like me, not really practical. For the next 8 weeks I'll be living it up on a beach at Campamento Tecoman, Nr Ciudad Tecoman on the pacific coast. There I'll be spending all my time looking for turtle nests. Basically when we find a nest the eggs are taken and placed into a safe area called the Corral. When they've hatched the baby turtles are taken back out into the sea, thus being saved from the nasty predator typies. Hurrah! Huzzah!

I thought it'd be a nice idea to set up this blog to record my progress over the next 4 months. I'll have fairly regular internet access for the first month, though after that I'll only get online for a little bit one day a week. But this should be enough to get on here, let you all know how I'm doing, and hopefully post some pictures so you can see for yourselves! I'm dead excited about México, I know its going to be the trip of a lifetime.

More news when I'm not so tired! But for now,

Adios y cuidate.
